When you think of a cactus, most people have a picture in their mind of a hot desert with no life but the prickly cactus standing alone.
In the heat of the desert, cacti have evolved the ability to adapt to their environment with fleshy stems, well-developed root systems. These stems store large amounts of water, allowing cacti to survive in the desert.
In order to better adapt to the arid environment with little rain, they have also evolved many structures that conserve water, such as spines. Unlike the thorns of roses, the thorns of cacti actually turn from their leaves.
Most cacti have thorns, but there are exceptions. Very few cacti can grow true leaves that are no different from other woody plants.
In this drawing tutorial today, we are going to learn how to draw a very simple cactus. It is planted in a nice pot that looks like a peculiar triangular hat!
We will draw that lovely cactus and then the pot. After adding an expression to the cactus, add a nice pattern to that pot. You can finish it quickly, so give it a try if you're interested.
