Halloween is a traditional holiday in many countries and is now widely popular all over the world. To celebrate Halloween, children dress up as monsters and go from house to house, knocking on doors and asking for candy, or else they will go trick-or-treating.

Halloween has quite a lot of exclusive protagonists, and spiders always give people a kind of scary, horrible feeling, it and Halloween really match.

Why do humans have an innate psychological fear of spiders? It's because at a very early age humans discovered that if they were bitten by a spider, they could die.

In isolated, deserted, abandoned houses, spider webs are a confirmation that no one is there. These are some of the characteristics that deepen our fear of spiders.

Today's drawing tutorial is related to Halloween and we are going to learn how to draw a Halloween spider. It has a cute image with a witch's hat and I'm sure everyone will love it.

You can think of it as something that needs to be done in two separate parts, first draw a classic witch's hat and then a rounded spider. It's very simple and can easily be done by anyone!

How to Draw a Halloween Spider Step by Step

Step 1 Draw an outline of a witch's hat.

Let's start by drawing a witch's hat. Draw a short line from left to right which is slightly angled to the right.

Draw a straight line from the left end of this short line toward the bottom left. Then draw a straight line from its right end towards the bottom right as well, so that you get the outline of this witch's hat.

At the bottom of the already drawn hat, we draw the brim of this witch's hat. It looks like it consists of two sword blades.

Step 2 Draw a band on this witch's hat.

You may have noticed that when we drew the brim of this witch's hat, we left a gap in the middle of its top edge.

Now let's draw a small rectangle at this gap. Then draw a slightly smaller rectangle inside this rectangle to get a clasp.

Draw a horizontal line to the left of this clasp. Then draw a horizontal line on the right side as well to complete a decorative band on the hat.

Step 3 Draw the outline of this spider.

We're halfway through this project, now let's start drawing that cute little spider. By looking at it you can see that it is nearly round.

Draw a big circle at the bottom of the hat, but leave a gap at the bottom of it, also the top of it doesn't need to be drawn all the way out, part of it is overlapping with the hat.

Let's look towards the bottom of this circle and draw a straight line from left to right to close this gap. This completes the outline of the spider.

Step 4 Draw the four legs on the left.

We all know that spiders have a lot of legs, which is one of the reasons why they look a bit scary, right? Here, we will start by drawing four legs on the left side of its body.

These legs are mainly located in the upper and middle part of this side, getting shorter in order from top to bottom. Each leg consists of two connected straight lines.

By looking at it we know that the top three legs are almost identical, while the bottom one is a bit special and you need to pay special attention to it.

Step 5 Draw the four legs on the right.

Next, let's look at the right side of this lovely spider's body, and on this side we'll likewise draw its other four legs.

These legs, too, are each made up of two connected straight lines, the left one shorter and the right one longer.

After we have completed the eight legs of this spider, the next step is to add the face, which is just as easy and much more interesting!

Step 6 Draw the eyes of this spider.

If we were to draw a horizontal line at mid-height on this spider's face, its eyes would probably be just at the top of this horizontal line.

Start by drawing a circle for one of the spider's eyes, the diameter of which you can determine by referring to the picture above. Then draw a concentric circle inside the circle.

Almost exactly the same, we also draw a circle first and then draw a concentric circle inside it to complete the other eye of this spider.

Step 7 Draw this spider's cheeks.

You can certainly draw this spider's mouth right away, which completes your artwork. Or, we can try to make this spider even cuter.

Draw a circle, almost the same size as the eye, to the lower left of that eye on the left. Draw a circle on the bottom right of the eye on the right.

This way we get the cheeks of this Halloween spider. After drawing its mouth later, you will see that it was a great choice to add cheeks to this spider.

Step 8 Draw the mouth of this spider.

This spider has a big smile, and doesn't it all of a sudden look like it's come to life with the addition of a mouth?

Draw a smooth curve from left to right to create a valley that connects the two cheeks.

Below this curve, draw another valley along it. This completes our smile for this Halloween spider.

Step 9 Color this spider and witch hat.

Finally it's time to color our little cutie, it's very easy and time saving too, you can do it in a moment!

Paint the hat gray, while that decorative band is purple and that buckle is yellow. Then paint this spider black and then orange for the cheeks and mouth.
