Polar bears are the world's largest land carnivore and one of the few species that live in the polar regions. They are such good swimmers that they were once thought to be marine animals.

Polar bears spend most of their lives (about 66.6%) in a "sedentary" state, e.g. sleeping, lying down and resting. The remaining 29.1% of their time is spent walking or swimming on land or ice, and 1.2% of their time is spent attacking prey. And finally the rest of the time is basically enjoying a tasty treat.

Our polar bears are still left-handed: polar bears often lie on their backs next to the vent holes of seals on the ice, or sneak up on seals as they climb up the ice. The bear's 'left-handedness' has developed over time as it hunts for food.

The polar bear looks white all over, and the environment it lives in is all white snow and ice, making it easy for it to hide. However, its nose is not white and can be easily detected by its prey. So when it looks down from the ice, it will "cleverly" cover its black nose with its right hand, leaving its left hand free to hunt.

98.5% of a polar bear's diet consists of meat. The main prey is seals and even walruses and beluga whales. They also prey on seabirds, fish and small mammals. In addition, polar bears are the only bears that actively attack humans, with most attacks occurring at night.
