Were pterosaurs dinosaurs? The answer is no. Pterosaurs are just a close relative of dinosaurs, an extinct reptile capable of flight. They were the first vertebrates to soar the skies, some 70 million years before birds.
Pterosaurs originated about 220 million years ago until they disappeared from the earth 65 million years ago along with dinosaurs and others, and lived on earth for 150 million years.
Long before the discovery of dinosaur fossils, in 1784, scientists have recorded the world's first pterosaur fossil found in Germany. More than 200 species of pterosaur fossils have been discovered, and they can be found on all seven continents.
How about it, isn't it a big surprise? It is really surprising that this pterosaur, which lived in the same era as many dinosaurs and often appeared in animation and movies with other dinosaurs, is not a member of the big dinosaur family!
In the following drawing tutorial, let's follow the step-by-step instructions to learn how to draw a pterodactyl. It looks cute and not at all as fierce and scary as it is shown in many movies!
We will start by drawing the head of this pterodactyl, followed by the wings, body and tail. If you like this cartoon pterodactyl try to draw it together.
