Have you ever heard of badminton? It's a super fun sport where players hit a special kind of ball back and forth over a net. But this is not just any ball—it's called a "shuttlecock" or just "shuttle."
A shuttlecock has a lot of feathers around its middle. These can be real feathers or made of synthetic material. The feathers help it fly smoothly through the air.
Unlike a round ball, a shuttlecock is more like a little cylinder with a flat bottom. This shape helps it fly straight and also makes a cool sound when it's hit.
In badminton, you use a racket to hit the shuttlecock. You want to send it over the net and try to make it land in your opponent's side without them being able to hit it back.
The shuttlecock is a little tricky because it can't spin too much when you hit it. If it does, it won't fly right and you might lose a point.
Playing badminton is a great way to have fun and get some exercise at the same time. It's good for your hand-eye coordination and it's just plain fun to see how high and far you can make the shuttlecock fly!
