The Arctic Tern is a small bird, but it’s one of the most amazing travelers in the animal kingdom! It’s about the size of a crow, with white feathers, a black cap on its head, and a bright red beak and feet. Its wings are long and pointed, which helps it fly very fast and glide smoothly through the air.

What makes the Arctic Tern so special is its incredible migration. Every year, it flies from one end of the Earth to the other and back again! In the summer, it lives in the Arctic (near the North Pole), where it builds nests and lays eggs.

But when winter comes, it flies all the way to the Antarctic (near the South Pole) to stay warm. This round trip is about 44,000 miles—that’s like flying around the Earth almost two times!

Because of this, the Arctic Tern sees more daylight than any other animal on Earth, as it follows the summer seasons in both hemispheres.

Arctic Terns are also very good at flying. They can glide for long distances without flapping their wings, and they even sleep while flying over the ocean! They eat small fish, shrimp, and other tiny sea creatures, which they catch by diving into the water.

These birds are very tough and can live for more than 30 years. Over their lifetime, they can fly the distance of going to the moon and back three times! Today, we are going to learn how to draw an Arctic Tern and try it out!
