The Moon is the Earth's only natural satellite and is the fifth largest satellite in the solar system and the closest celestial body to the Earth.It does not emit light itself, but glows because its surface reflects sunlight.

The Moon revolves around the Earth in the same amount of time as it rotates, which means that it always faces the Earth in the same direction. Therefore, what we see on Earth is always the same side of the Moon, and the side with its back to Earth can only be seen with spacecraft.

Compared to the Earth, the Moon's rotation is "slow", taking 708 hours to complete a full rotation. In other words, a day on the Moon is equivalent to 29.5 days on Earth!

How to Draw the Night Sky Step by Step

Step 1 Draw a large circle for the moon.

Step 2 In the upper part of this circle, draw four thick curves to get the eyes of the moon.

Step 3 Below the eyes, draw a curve from left to right. Add a short line at each end of this line.

Step 4 To the left of the moon, draw a cloud. There are also clouds at night.

Step 5 At the base of the moon, draw a slightly smaller cloud.

Step 6 Draw a third cloud to the right of the moon.

Step 7 Finally color the painting and add some highlights as stars.
