Unikitty is a major character in The Lego Movie, known in full as Princess Unikitty.Popular in the movie, she has her own animated episode of the same name!

Unikitty is the ruler of a fantasy kingdom and lives in a castle. In the animation, she has adventures with her brother Puppycorn, bodyguard Hawkodile, scientist Dr. Fox, and royal advisor Richard.

Unikitty looks both like a cat and a unicorn, with big blue eyes, a light pink mouth and nose, pink triangular ears, and a blue unicorn horn and tail.

For today's drawing tutorial, let's follow the step-by-step instructions below and learn how to draw Unikitty! It's not going to be an easy task, and you'll need to understand the three-dimensional structure, but it's worth the effort for such cute Unikitty!

How to Draw Unikitty Step by Step

Step 1 Outline Unikitty's head.

We will begin by drawing the outline of Unikitty's head. Let's start by observing her head - it looks like a paper box with flaps.

Let's first try to draw a rectangle, but not its top edge. This rectangle should be angled to the left, and each of its edges need not be straight.

Draw a short line from the top of the left edge toward the top right. Draw a line from the right end of this short line towards the bottom right to get an ear. Follow a similar way to draw Unikitty's other ear.

Step 2 Make Unikitty's head three-dimensional.

Next we're going to add more lines to Unikitty's head, thus making her head three-dimensional. We know that Unikitty looks like she's made of Legos.

Start by drawing a thick line from left to right, passing the base of both ears. Then draw two other smooth curves below that line.

Draw a line down from that left ear, along the left side of the face. Then draw a line from the right ear toward the bottom left to reach that thick line.

Step 3 Draw Unikitty's big eyes.

Unikitty's eyes are big and bright and very beautiful! In this step we are about to try to draw her eyes.

Let's start by looking at her eyes - they're both round and look almost exactly the same, so we just need to try to draw one first and the other will be perfectly fine.

Draw a circle on the left side of the face. Draw an oval inside it. Inside this oval, draw a smaller oval and then a slightly larger one, thus completing an eye. On the right side of the face draw another eye in the same way.

Step 4 Draw Unikitty's mouth, eyelashes and eyebrows.

Start by drawing Unikitty's eyebrows. Just draw a smooth curve at the top of each eye to create a valley.

Next, draw an eyelash that looks like a knot on the left side of that eye on the left. Do the same on the right side of the eye on the right.

Draw a valley below the eyes as well for Unikitty's mouth. Then add a sharp corner for a tooth.

Step 5 Draw Unikitty's horn.

As we can see, Unikitty has a unicorn-like horn on top of her head, which makes her look regal and stand out. Well, the horn looks like an upside down ice cream cone.

Start by drawing the bottom of this horn, which has a top edge made of two lines joined together, not a straight line. Then just draw lines down from each end of this edge.

Draw an upside-down "V" shape and add three diagonal lines, and you have an ice cream cone - aka Unikitty's horn.

Step 6 Draw Unikitty's neck and body.

By looking, we can see that Unikitty's neck is short and her body is only about half the size of her head. These are the key points we need to note.

At the base of the head, find two dots in the center and draw two short lines downward to get Unikitty's neck. This is easy, but drawing the body is a little harder.

We start by drawing a rectangle at the base of the neck. Then draw a side to the left of it, thus completing Unikitty's three-dimensional body.

Step 7 Add details to Unikitty's body.

In this step, we are going to add some lines on Unikitty's body, this is to draw her clothes, which you can do easily.

Close to the neck, draw a semi-circle on the top of the body to get Unikitty's neckline. Try to draw this arc as smooth as possible.

Take two dots on the left edge of that rectangle you drew in the previous step. Connect them to the lines on each side to get two sets of parallel lines.

Step 8 Draw Unikitty's tail.

We only have Unikitty's tail left to finish before coloring. Her tail is nearly round and looks like a chubby whale.

You can start by drawing a smooth curve reaching the left side of the body. Then draw another smooth curve below it.

Finally connect their left ends with a straight line and we have completed Unikitty's big tail.

Step 9 Lastly, coloring for Unikitty.

When coloring Unikitty, we need to have a variety of colors on hand, and all of them are bright, mood-boosting colors, don't you think?

Well, now let's take out our crayons or watercolor paints and color the cute Unikitty with reference to the picture above.

You need to be extra careful and meticulous as there are some narrow places that are easy to cross the line while coloring.
